Scripture Reading List for the Spring Feasts

We are a month away from Passover. If this set apart day were mainstream we would have seen matzah and decorations on sale at the front of stores for months now. Since it's not, this is your reminder: Passover is coming and we can honor YHWH but preparing and looking forward to it expectantly.

In the weeks leading up to the Spring feasts--Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits--I like to reread pertinent passages of Scripture so I become better acquainted. The extra familiarity makes it easier to share with others about honoring the Feasts, as well as spark ideas to celebrate and teach about Passover. Of course, this should also bring conviction and repentance to our hearts as we study the Word of YHWH.

So what are the Scriptures to read regarding the Feasts? Traditionally these are mainly limited to the Exodus story. And while this is absolutely foundational to the Passover feast, we are going to tragically miss much of YHWH's truth if we stop there. Yahusha's famous last supper was the Seder meal at Passover. The story of YHWH bringing the Israelites out of slavery is a beautiful shadow of the Messiah's redemption. I have created a list of Scriptures to study in the upcoming weeks so you can see this for yourself.

Spring Feast Reading List

Shemot 12 - The Passover story of the Israelites leaving Mitzrayim
Vayikra 23:5-12 - Instructions for keeping Passover and Unleavened Bread
Numbers 9:14 - All believers should celebrate the Feasts
Deuteronomy 16:1-8 - Overview of the Spring Feasts
Matthew 26-28 - The Last Supper and Death of Yahusha
Mark 14 - The Pesach Meal of Yahusha
Luke 22 - Pesach Meal and Interrogation of Yahusha
John 13-17 - The Words of Yahusha at the Pesach Meal
Acts 12 - YHWH frees Peter from prison during the Feast of Unleavened Bread
Acts 20:6 - After Unleavened Bread Paul and Luke left Philippi
1 Corinthians 5:7-8 - Paul admonishes believers in the Messiah to celebrate the Feasts

I hope you will spend time studying these Scriptures as we prepare for these Feasts!
