I was trying to find a way to get around the fasting- by supplementing my family with just fruit and juiced veggies, but your writings have encouraged me to FAST for this one day. I love how you reminded us about Jesus fasting 40 days and how millions are starving everyday. I am excited to give YHVH this day. It's definitely not my favorite of the festivals, but I've grown to admire it, because of that. :) Since my family doesn't garden, I've never put together that correlation with fasting during harvest season. Very interesting point! Also, this morning I was thinking about how it's good that YHVH gives us this day of fasting and repentance before the body of Messiah celebrates Sukkot together for 8 days. Yom Kippur is the perfect time to pause and cleanse our hearts so that we can all be more loving toward one another and dwell together in unity during the festival of rejoicing.
